Dilmah Conservation’s Greening Batticaloa is planting 1 million cashew trees to improve the green cover while economically empowering the local communities in the region. Under this initiative, 300 cashew plants were given to a proprietor of a private estate in Kalkudah. After 6 years, the trees are in their bearing age and had a yield of around 15, 000 nuts this year.
