Bee a Keeper

Bees are a major pollinators species, ensuring food security, sustainable agriculture, and biodiversity; whilst contributing to the mitigation of climate change. Scientific studies have proven that bees have become increasingly endangered. Dilmah Conservation launched ‘Bee a Keeper’ in May 2020, to promote the sustainable use of bees in agriculture and related ecosystems.

Its main goals are:

  • Bee Awareness
  • Bee Research
  • Beekeeping
  • Buzzing Livelihood

The project will function through 6 identified hubs across the island:

  • Endana Field Research Station
  • One Earth Climate Change Centre
  • One Earth Centre Kalkudah
  • One Earth Centre Moratuwa
  • Defending Mangrove - Project Station
  • Copenhagen Farm
