Signing Carbon Neutral Pledge

  • Signing Carbon Neutral Pledge
In December of 2015 at the United Nations Climate Conference (COP 21) held in Paris, a global agreement on the reduction of climate change was pledged, the first-ever of its kind. Inspired and motivated by the Paris Agreement's global action plan, Dilmah pledged to become Carbon Neutral and set out in creating and initiating a detailed action plan of its own in achieving net-zero carbon emissions by the year 2017.

In mirroring the commitment of Dilmah in joining this global agreement, the global partners of Dilmah came together on the 7th of May at the Dilmah Conservation Sustainable Agriculture Research Center to sign the Dilmah Carbon Neutral Pledge. With this pledge Dilmah and its global partners plan to work towards promoting a more sustainable world, primarily focusing on creating thresholds for increasing climate resilience, expanding research in carbon neutrality, enhancing renewable energy and energy efficiency programs, reducing and offsetting the carbon footprint of their operations.
