• Identification

  Trunk vertically segmented or fluted at the base with a pale smooth greyish bark. The rough leaves are broadly oval in shape with a slightly irregular margin, rounded at the base and blunt at the apex, and about 2-10 cm long and 2-4 cm broad. The small, greenish-yellow flowers are seen in groups on the leaf nodes. The fruit turns red when ripe and is edible.
