Tree with smooth, yellowish bark , flaking off in small pieces. Young parts have tiny hairs. Leaves are compound with 2-5 pairs of leaflets arranged in opposites, along with the terminal pair. Leaflets are usually stiff, about 3-15 cm long and 1.5-5.5 cm broad, shiny above, elliptic in shape with a tapering base and a short and bluntly pointed apex. The small, many-flowered, yellowishbrown inflorescences are densely hairy, borne towards the ends of the branches, 6-18 cm long, and branched once or twice. The fruit is globose, 1.5-2 cm, nearly smooth, dull yellow when ripe, and edible.
