Tree with a furrowed, brownish-grey trunk, and a crown of spreading branches. Branchlets are slender and droopy, consisting of dull green leaves that are ovate in shape with a tapering base and apex, about 6-11 cm long and 3-7 cm broad in size. Inflorescences are found at the leaf nodes of branchlets and contain small greenish-white flowers that are about 3-5 mm in size. The one-seeded fruit is globose, smooth, red when ripe.
Drier, sandy areas of forests.
Native tree. Tolerates water deficit conditions, very common in arid zone.
