The dark green and glossy leaves are about 20 cm long and 3.5-6 cm broad, elliptic in shape with a pointed base and apex. The mid vein is prominent above, and the laterals are somewhat sunken. The inflorescence formed of a tight cluster of 5-25 white sessile flowers is borne on a shortly branched axis about 3.5-11.5 cm long. The fruit is globose, up to 1 cm long, capped by a persistent calyx and has a few seeds.
