Straggling tree. Leaves are oval-shaped, often with a longitudinal groove, about 2-8 cm long and 2-5 cm broad, tapered at the base and blunt to round at the apex. The veins invisible in older leaves. Small, attractive, brilliant blue flowers are borne in compact clusters at the leafless parts of twigs. The fruit is globose, 7 mm in diameter, initially yellowish green, but turns to bluish black with maturity.
