A deciduous tree with spreading branches. Leaves are compound, 6-17 cm long, with 5-9 pairs of leaflets arranged in opposites including the terminal leaflet, each about 3-10 cm long and 2–5 cm wide, ovate to elliptic in shape with a rounded base and short pointed tip. White to pinkish flowers seen in small clusters at the leaf nodes during the months of April to June. The fruit is shiny, flat and elliptic, about 5 cm long, 2.5-3 cm wide, and has 1-2 seeds.
