Young parts are silvery and fine hairy. Leaves are about 10-13 cm long and 5-7 cm broad, oval shape with a slightly tapered base and a shortly pointed apex. Leaves are finely teethed at the margin, smooth above and have soft hairs beneath. Inflorescences borne at the leaf nodes, below the young leaf flush. The flowers are white, tassel-like, and about 1-2 cm. Fruits are sub-globular, about 2 cm, velvety, and edible.
